This is going to go in the top left hand corner of the New Zealand flag and so is quarter of the size of the first flag block I made.
Lots of people asked for a pattern after I finished the first flag and so, whilst making this one up, I wrote one. That's now finished aswell and is winging its way to pattern testers today! It has been such an exciting time but just before I posted them off today I had a huge bout of nerves. And I do mean HUGE ..... I actually felt really sick and couldn't catch my breath properly!! What was that all about? It's a quilt pattern for goodness sake!!
So I have two weeks left to get the rest of the New Zealand flag finished and to combine both flags into a cohesive quilt. Wish me luck!
All those tiny squares! I've always wanted to make one of these. I like the option of the squares in this design. For some reason I feel I would go crazy and make a scrappy rainbow out of it! Congrats on getting a pattern written!
ReplyDeleteThis continues to be beautiful!

Wow these look fantastic. That's alot of tiny squares and you have matched the seams beautifully. Congratulations on writing the pattern.
ReplyDeleteImpressed! Lots of tiny squares! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThose are both fabulous.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEventually I'm going to make that block too. I love it and the scrappy look just adds to the awesomeness of the block. It's great!
ReplyDeleteA different take on the Union flags I've seen - the piecing is really very effective!
