Last week I showed you my first customer quilt that I had finished. Yesterday I returned it to the lady and I am happy to say that she was absolutely thrilled!!!! It was such an amazing feeling and the thought of being able to make money from something that I enjoy is just great.
Here's a couple of shots I found on my phone that shows the back of the quilt - I love how the actual quilting stands out more from the back.
So my finish for this week are some longarm quilted samples. I have been meaning to do these since I got the machine last July but am now happy that I left them this long because, of course, my skills have increased. These are all done freehand on my HandiQuilter Avante HQ18.
And another happy moment from this morning, which I will share with you here because I think you may appreciate it more than my children, was that I had some comments on these samples from Angela Walters herself on my Instagram feed!!!! I think there was little yelp of joy from me!! x
Linking up with Amanda-Jean over at Crazy Mom Quilts.
That is beautiful quilting on the customer quilt and your samples are fabulous! What a great idea to show your customers an idea of your quilting skills and an idea of their available choices and a way to imagine how designs would look on the quilt.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I understand the thrill of getting a comment from someone famous in the quilting world.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on delivering the quilt to your customer and having them be thrilled with the finish. It is always a lovely feeling to make something that is so appreciated, and there really is nothing like making money on something that is a joy to create. And whoo! I love how Angela is so friendly and I totally understand the squealing. I may have made my husband come verify in the past... ;)
ReplyDeleteYour quilting samples are wonderful! what a fun way to show off different designs to your customers!
ReplyDeleteI can hear your yelp!! Angela commenting would cause me to yelp as well. So glad to hear your customer was thrilled-such a relief isn't it? Love your samples-something I need to get on and make.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised your customer was thrilled - the quilting looks so great (and thanks for the back shot: it's always the best way to see the quilting). I love the samples - have just spent ages trying to pick my favourite!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a beautiful finish! And I totally get it about Angela...I once had a fabric designer ask me if she could use pictures of a quilt I made with her fabric on her Flickr page and I had a fangirl fit!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first customer quilt! Your sample boards look great.
