A week of finishes - Day 4 :: Project Linus (again!!)

So this Project Linus quilt is bought to you by my daughter!

I took a Home Ed group for sewing earlier in the year (you can see some of the other quilts here and here) and this was the last one to be finished off ....

I was especially happy with this one because this daughter is very rarely in the studio or sewing.  Her reason being .... "But Mum you do it so well and so quickly!!""

I haven't done any swirly quilting for a while and I realised again how much I love it.  Many thanks to the people who commented on my recent post and  told me that the quilting motif on it was called a paisley design (rather than my description whirly pearls!).

And the girl herself, who is usually so camera shy.  I was astonished when she let me take a photo of her and then astonished again when she said I could put it on here.

This is my 4th finish from my 2016 Finish Along Quarter 3 list (Number 16 on the list).  I am obviously not going to finish all 25 but I am on track to have a few more finished before the month's out!

  1. I love her reasoning. I mean, how do you argue with that? :) But what a lovely finish. She looks so proud! And I bet you're a proud mama.

  2. You might not get all 25 done, but you are definitely making great and steady progress. The swirls are great, and how fun to have your daughter join you. :)

  3. It's great when your daughter shows an interest and you can do something together . I love the swirls , I really need to up my quilting game

  4. Yay for getting your daughter to sew! She did a great job. I've tried to get mine to join in the family fun, but nope, just not gonna do it :) I think you might get closer to finishing them than you think.

  5. At least you got her to the sewing machine once. Drama Teen will not even attempt to stitch together squares. I can only hope that she'll get the bug later in life. Love the colors and the quilting.

  6. That is a great finish for both of you and a lovely proud photo of your daughter. The swirls look great and I like the description whirly pearls!!

  7. It looks wonderful and she looks so pleased with it. Maybe this finish will keep her inspired.

  8. You can tell she is proud of her work, as I'm sure you are as well. And you're on a roll on getting a lot of finishes done this year.
